VETERINARIAN
Kathy K. Clark, DVM
Dr. Kathy Clark is the owner of Clark Veterinary Hospital, started by her father in 1955. Growing up in the area, she has a close connection to her clients and their pets, many of whom she has known for a long time.
Dr. Clark graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Science. She continued her education with a PhD in Genetics from the University of New Hampshire in 1980. In 1984 Dr. Clark earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) from Tufts University.
As a member of several veterinary associations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the American Heartworm Society, the International Society of Feline Medicine, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners, Dr. Clark continues to be apprised of the latest developments in veterinary medicine. She attends conferences and seminars in her ongoing efforts to bring the best care to her patients.
In addition to her association with various veterinary organizations, Dr. Clark is a member of the Noank Community Band where she not only plays the oboe and English horn, but is also the treasurer. She has two daughters, Sarah and Leslie, both of whom are continuing their educational goals in obtaining master degrees. Sarah is currently residing in Massachusetts and Leslie is now living in North Carolina. The Clark family also includes Buddy, who is a rescue pit bull, and Baby the cat.
VETERINARY ASSISTANTS
Dawn
Dawn started at our practice as a receptionist in 1994. She soon became an assistant when her love and interest for animals became very evident. She is well acquainted with our animal patients and gives each and every one the best care possible and the benefit of all the expertise and knowledge she has gained over the years. During her time with us, she has provided a loving home for several various sized dogs and cats who have benefited greatly from her extra-ordinary patience and willingness to provide the best possible environment.
Meghan
Meghan grew up in the area and has been working in the field for the past 15 years. She has a liberal arts degree. When not in the hospital, Meg spends time hiking, photographing her adventures, and loving her 2 cats, Opie and Mutant, and a tank of tropical fish.
Alisha
Alisha came to us in 2011 with several years of experience in animal care. She is currently studying for an associate degree in animal science.
When Alisha is working, you may find her taking calls, checking-in patients, or assisting the doctor. On her off-time, she enjoys spending time with her two beautiful kids, her wonderful boyfriend, and her two cats, Archie and Taco.
Alisha is a very compassionate person and is living her childhood dream of taking care of animals.
Debbie
Debbie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work and has spent twenty-six years working in the human field of medicine. She has successfully transferred the skills acquired working with her human patients to the care and treatment of the pets she encounters at Clark Veterinary. Debbie has a great compassion for all animals, tame or wild, and has been known to save injured wildlife when they cross her path. She is the proud owner of five dogs, all rescued from less than ideal circumstances and now living in a loving home.
Olivia
Olivia holds a veterinary assistant certificate and is studying to become a veterinary technician. She is passionate about animals and ensures every patient feels well cared for in a safe and clean environment.
Outside of work, Olivia loves spending time with her partner and small furry family, including Bailey, their pit bull- mix. You can always find them adventuring, hiking or at the beach!
RECEPTIONISTS
Marcia
Marcia has been with the practice since September 2007. Her smiling face and genuine interest in the people who come through our door has made her a client favorite. It is not uncommon for client to ask for her personally and be disappointed if she is off. Marcia has many duties-answering four lines, scheduling appointments and assisting in the filing and record keeping required for all patients. Despite the somewhat hectic schedule, she never fails to respond courteously to all questions and concerns.
Lesley
Lesley started with us in September 2020. She earned an associate degree in criminal justice and a medical assistant certificate. She has worked as a medical assistant for 15 years, but has always loved and had an interest in animals.
When not working, Lesley loves spending time with her family, which consists of her loving husband, their beautiful daughter and their dog and cat.
ANIMAL CARETAKER and SOCIAL MEDIA
Peri
Peri joined the practice in 2010. Since then, she has earned certificates in Veterinary Assistant, Wildlife Basics, and Pet Physical Therapy. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Peri is a conscientious kennel manager; her main goal is to keep the animals staying at our hospital comfortable, and in a clean, well-cared for environment. She has been instrumental in developing the protocol for all maintenance duties necessary in the care of animals. She is also the administrator of our Facebook and Instagram pages, and updates content on our website.
